We are Richard, Greet, Mike & Martijn — together, we form the heart of ’t Katreel.

Our story begins in 1959, when Richard’s father started building at Marktvelderweg 14 in Haaksbergen. Having grown up at number 8, right in the middle of the family farmstead, he took his first steps on his own land. What is now a charming farmstead with a campsite and apartments was back then a densely wooded area. All the trees had to be removed by hand before the first house and a simple barn could be built — the barn still stands today and now serves as shelter for the animals on our petting farm.

This laid the foundation for the farm business, which started with a few cows, pigs, and chickens. Over the years, it grew into a fully operational dairy and pig farm.
